I had a shot of wheatgrass juice today. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m big on juicing, but I had never tried wheatgrass before. I must say, it has a very strong taste. It’s not horrible, but it’s not sweet either. I’d say it has a grassy/metallic-like taste. It’s not bad. I had it mixed along with apple and carrot juice. I’d like to try it on it’s own as well.
So what’s the big deal with wheatgrass? Well, lost of people swear by it saying it can cure pretty much everything. It’s called the wonder juice because it’s very high in chlorophyll — so think of it as liquid sunlight. It also has about 17 types of amino acids, so it can easily replace your expensive protein shakes. The list of health benefits are never ending, which is why I was so excited to take it.
Now a lot of doctors have dismissed wheatgrass as a fad. A scam to make gullible people part with their money. Honestly, I don’t know who to believe. Perhaps more studies are needed. But the way I see it is — it’s a natural juice. All natural juices are good for you. You can’t go wrong with trying it.
