A new study by the medical journal, Circulation, has found that following a Mediterranean diet, low-fat diet, or low-carbohydrate diet can effectively reduce plaque build-up in clogged arteries. The study followed 140 people and after 2 years the arterial wall was cut by 5% in some of the volunteers. The study was a collaboration between researchers in the U.S., Canada, and Germany. It was carried out among overweight volunteers, mostly men, who were aged 40 to 65.
